Hashem Rahman Jr. weighs at 206.6 for the fight canceled, unofficially (video)

Hashim Rahman Jr’s match against Jack Paul was called off a week before the fight was scheduled for August 6, but Rahman Jr did a weight check to prove he could have hit 205.

Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr’s drama continues. Although the August 6 boxing match at Madison Square Garden in New York has been canceled for over a week.

To prove it wasn’t the reason for the fight to be called off, Rahman had his weight assessed at Gleeson Club on August 5, the day Rahman and Paul would have considered if the competition had continued.

While weighing in, Abdul Rahman weighed 206.6 lbs. There is nothing official about this weight, so take this score as you wish.

Usually, the State Athletics Commission manages the weight with fully calibrated scales, so you have to trust the Rahman team if you want to believe the number on the scale.

Initially, Paul was to be opposite Rahman with a cruiser weight limit of 200 pounds. The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) will not allow the fight to continue due to Rahman’s weight a week before the game.

Hashem Rahman Jr. rated Jake Paul’s canceled match and came in at 206.6, unofficially

NYSAC stated that the fight should be moved to 205. Paul was on board with this plan, but Paul’s promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, canceled the event.

A press release from MVP on July 30 stated that Rahman’s team had informed them that they were planning to weigh in at 215 pounds for a fight. The MVP used that as the basis for canceling the fight.

Abdul Rahman confessed on social media (h / t mmamania.com) that he couldn’t hit 200. Then he admitted on social media that he wanted to fight 210 or 215, which would legitimize Paul’s team claims.

Then the narration of Rahman turned. Rahman claimed that the MVP was not being honest about their statements, indicating that Paul was looking for a way out.

BoxingScene.com Jake Donovan He wrote on Twitter, “Extreme misunderstanding (trying to be polite here) on Rahman’s part prompted most valuable promotions to cancel the fight, and with it the entire event.”

Could it be that Rahman had made 205? Was it a misunderstanding? Did Rahman plan for a weight much higher than 205, or did Paul want a way out of the fight?

It all depends on who you believe in.
