Finn Scully’s salute to Liassel Puig is so heartbreaking

The post included Puig along with three icons of Dodgers scout Mike Britto, longtime Dodgers manager, Tommy Lasorda and Scully. The three men have died recently.

Puig began his MLB career playing for the Dodgers from 2013 to 2018 and was believed to be one of the greatest rookies at the time. His trip from Cuba to America was one for the movies and the people of Los Angeles were very protective of him. Hamstring problems hindered his career with the team among other injuries and his stock started to drop. He was involved in a field brawl, and was often in trouble with the law.

In March 2021, Puig was Accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Staples Center bathroom During a game at the Los Angeles Lakers. He denied the allegations, calling them “false and malicious” but later settled his sexual assault lawsuit.

“Ven is like a father to me” Puig told TMZ. Same for Tommy Lasorda and Mike Brito. We are so sad to miss all these three wonderful guys. Sad for myself, for all of baseball, and for Los Angeles.”
