Sean Connery described James Bond’s successor, George Lazenby, as a ‘T** Award’ | movies | entertainment

Instead, Bond films continued to be smash hits and Lazenby found it difficult to find work – not helped by the fact that the high-impact broccoli had spoken out against him. In 1978, the actor released a public statement, hoping to rebuild his credibility and career.

He said, “It wasn’t easy, trying to get up again…I admit I acted stupid. It went into my head, whatever was happening to me. But remember, it was my first movie…Now what I have to do is live my past; Convincing people that I’m not the same person who fooled himself all those years. I know I can do it. All I need is the opportunity.”

Unfortunately, few big opportunities appeared on his way to the big screen, while he landed small on-screen roles over the years on shows like Baywatch, Hawaii Five-0, and General Hospital.

Lazenby promoted the 2017 documentary drama The Making of Bond, looked back and said, “Do I have any regrets? Only when I’m broke…But I thought what my life would be like if it went on. Three wives in Beverly Hills, mansions, and they were drug addicts. I thought, Well, I think I did the right thing.”
