The new Xbox Game Pass rumor has disappointing news for subscribers

A new rumor associated with Xbox Game Pass has some disappointing news for subscribers. Over the past year or so, Microsoft has been working even harder with Game Pass to bring notable third-party titles to the service on its first day of release. Some of these games are included MLB Show 22And the The sixth rainbow stoneAnd the Outriders, For example, but not limited. And while Microsoft will likely continue to try to add new titles to Xbox Game Pass in this way, it seems we shouldn’t expect more first-day releases from third-party publishers for the remainder of 2022.

According to internal official Nick Baker, it doesn’t appear that Microsoft currently has any other third-party titles lined up to come to Xbox Game Pass on Day One until the final months of 2022. Baker confirmed he wasn’t entirely sure this was true. The case, but it was explained during the last episode of XboxEra podcast It does not believe that prominent third-party titles like Hogwarts LegacyAnd the call of duty modern warfare 2And the Gotham Knightsor others will access Game Pass the same day they arrive for all platforms.

Assuming this rumor is true, it will make the Xbox lineup in the back half of 2022 pretty dismal. Not only will Xbox Game Pass not get any notable third-party titles released this fall, but Microsoft’s first-party lineup is also thin right now, too. While 2023 seems stronger for Xbox with games like starfieldAnd the RedvaleAnd the Forza Motorsport Whatever is slated to release, it could be the end of the year for Game Pass.

Again, it’s worth emphasizing that this is all just a rumor at the moment, so take what Becker expressed with caution. Even if Microsoft doesn’t release any major third-party releases in the back half of the year, it makes sense that Game Pass will still get more notable titles in the coming months even if it’s a bit outdated.
