Actress Anne Heck remains in a coma and in critical condition after a fatal car accident in the Los Angeles area on Friday, August 5. A representative of the star made a statement to Limit, which paints a bleak picture of Heche. This update comes just days after Heche’s publicist issued a statement calling it “in stable condition”. Heche rammed her car into a home in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles, causing her car and the house in question to catch on fire. Deadline says 59 firefighters battled the blaze, which took 65 minutes to put out. Heche was reported to have been responsive and persistent after being pulled out of the fire, but soon lost consciousness.
“At this time in a very critical condition, she has a major lung injury that requires mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention,” Hetchi’s delegate said in a statement. “She is in a coma and hasn’t regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.”
