next season of curb your enthusiasm It will head into production later this year, ensuring there isn’t another five or six year gap between new installments of the fan-favorite comedy. Showrunner Jeff Schaeffer took a long time with him Indiewire Recently, explaining that there is no shortage of ideas for the fictional version of star Larry David, when “there is an open tap about bad behavior.” [on L.A.’s] West Side” in the real world, giving the show a never-ending stream of inspiration, despite the production’s philosophy that every season should be wrapped up as if it was the last they’d ever do.
The series will likely return in late 2023, with David returning as a version of himself who is one of the saddest sacks in the whole of Los Angeles. The interview gave a little sense of how the series had developed at this point in his life as well, as Schafer joked about the differences between real-life Larry and his TV counterpart.
“We’re writing it now, and we’re going to start shooting, I don’t know, late fall,” Schaeffer told IndieWire. “We’re in the middle of it now. I’m looking at a dry erase board. […] We just sit in a room, show each other our embarrassing scars, and come up with new things. Funny things are like cockroaches. It’s hard to kill them. They stay around, and I think we’re just comedic cockroaches.”
