Why does Cain keep killing Abel in Netflix’s The Sandman?

“He can’t help him. It’s not his fault,” Abel told Goldi Margul. “It’s who he is. It’s who we are. The first murderer and the first victim. This is our story.”

While Cain is cruel, bitter and perhaps angry with the world, Abel is tolerant, kind, warm-hearted, and a bit shy.

“Honestly, I don’t mind getting killed,” he says. “If that’s what makes Cain happy, then – hey, what’s the use of brothers?”
