JLo may have declared it summer booty this year, but for reality star Kim Kardashian, it looks like she wants it to be summer Awkward Tan Lines. I say this because she has recently been selling some very expensive “swimming gloves” across her SKIMS brand. The new fashion trend has been hard for me – and still is – but on the contrary, Kim’s older sister Kourtney seems to be living her best life in it.

Now, like I said, I still don’t get the full purpose of underwater dance floor accessories – other than the “fashion” being promoted from it all. However, having one Kardashian (other than Kim) actually wear them for themselves is kind of making me rethink things a bit. I mean, after all, when you pair it with a one-piece suit, as Kourtney is doing here, it’s like wearing a rash guard or a wet suit—if those items have suddenly lost your biceps section. And if it’s a cloudy day, what’s really the harm in overdressing?
But I do not know. Is it the gloves or is married life just getting along with Kourtney Kardashian? The 43-year-old has tied with Blink-182 drummer Travis Parker three times over the past year. The last one, a Roman Catholic affair, saw the bride (and many others) wearing long gloves in the traditional sense of the time. The couple later had to overcome poor health concerns about Parker, but all is well and seems comfortable now, if these photos are any indication.
SKIMS Swimming Gloves seem to grow on other people too, besides Kim Kardashian’s relatives (and myself). The entire set (in seven different colors) was sold online at $48 a piece. Kardashian explained that the reason it was made in the first place was to bridge the “gap between getting in and out of the water.” The TV personality has continued to voice her interior designer with an A+ collaboration with Beats by Dr. Dr. (Shocking: There are a variety of neutrals.)
The multi-billion dollar family’s various business endeavors were heavily documented in the first-time premiere of the new reality show Hulu, Kardashians. SKIMS, Good American, Poosh, Kylie Cosmetics – the gang was there. But of course, it was the personal drama we’ve all been watching mostly, which included the epilogue on how the Tristan Thompson paternity scandal affected Khloe Kardashian.
It’s expected to get even more brutal in the upcoming second season. We know Kim Kardashian’s (ex) boyfriend Pete Davidson is making some appearances, and it’s rumored that Khloe may be dealing with the well-kept secret of carrying her second child with Tristan Thompson, via surrogate, amid the scandal that has emerged. We’ll find out for sure, when it goes live on September 22nd.
I still probably won’t be buying Kim’s swimming gloves anytime soon or, I think, joining the mile-long waiting list now that they’re sold out. But I’ll keep my Hulu subscription to keep up with the Kardashians, as always.
