Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War Arc is the long-awaited anime adaptation that will arrive this fall. As Ichigo and the Soul Society prepare to return to the small screen, they’ll be accompanied by some new villains from the Quincy group. Ahead of the anime’s start in October, the Shonen series released new character designs from Studio Pierrot to wow fans with the long-awaited return of Ichigo Kurosaki and his fellow soulmates.
The Thousand Years Blood War arc was originally billed as the grand finale of the shounen manga that was once considered part of the “Big Three” franchises printed by Weekly Shonen Jump, with One Piece and Naruto Rounding out the trifecta. However, last year, Tite Kubo returned to its Shonen franchise with a new chapter that witnessed a mysterious secret about the unveiling of the underworld that sparked great interest for both the Soul Society and manga readers. Although no new chapters have been confirmed, the series’ reemergence in both the manga and anime could mean that Kubo is gearing up to make a comeback and create new stories for Ichigo Kurosaki and his associates.
