Bellator 284: Live Results vs Neiman Gracie vs Goiti Yamauchi [UPDATED]
Neiman Gracie is looking to step back and start pushing for a second chance at the Bellator Welterweight Championship. Meanwhile, Goeti Yamauchi is looking forward to a big win in only his second fight in the weight class.
Gracie and Yamauchi, a pair of jiu-jitsu and wrestling experts, meet in the main event of Bellator 284 on August 12 at the Sanford Pentagon.
Gracie, who was sitting at number five in the Bellator Welterweight Rankings, will enter this bout after a loss at the February Bellator 274 event to Logan Sturley, who captured provisional welterweight gold a few months ago.
Gracie has been 2-3 in his last five fights, trading gains and losses since seeing an undefeated record end in his only previous title shot – he lost to Rory MacDonald at the Bellator 222 as part of the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix.
Yamauchi is entering this fight after eight victories in his last ten fights, including five victories in his last six matches and two consecutive victories. Yamauchi, who previously competed in featherweight and light weight division, made his welterweight debut at Bellator 279 in April, introducing Levan Chukele in about four minutes.
