Ante Delia and Renan Ferreira battled in the PFL 8 to advance to the PFL Playoffs.
Ante Delija got into the fight with the legendary Mirko Cro Cop in his corner. The Croatian had hoped he could fend off finishing machine Renan Ferreira to finish last in the heavyweight finals in qualifying. Delia started the fight by forcing Ferreira into the cage and eventually taking him down.
Delija was able to score with the ground and the pound before re-handling Ferreira between the ground and the cage wall. It wouldn’t go well for Ferreira from here, as Déliga was able to grind Ferreira into the carpet, with Cro Cop winning by TKO.
Ante Delija takes on Matheus Scheffel for the heavyweight portion of the PFL Championship
Now that Delija has secured his place in the PFL 8 heavyweight finals, he will move on to the PFL Championship to face Mateusz Schiffel for the heavyweight title and the million dollar purse.
It’s not the fight many expected to reach the finals before the playoffs started, but due to the injuries of defending champion Bruno Capelloza, along with some disappointing performances, we now have an unexpected and very enjoyable final battle for the heavyweight season.
Both men finished their fights in the semi-finals via TKO, and the finals should be tough.
