Yu Yu Hakusho shares his first look at the next Nendoroids

Yo Yo Hakusho Currently in the middle of celebrating their 30th anniversary, The Good Smile Company has just shared the first look at some of the new Nendoroid characters coming our way! Yoshihiro Togashi’s original manga series debuted on the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump 30 years ago, and as part of this commemorative celebration, fans have seen the franchise return in some unexpected ways. With the franchise remaining one of the most popular action releases of all time all these years after, we’re also now getting our chance at some merchandise we never had before.

While there has been a Nendoroid number for Yusuke Urameshi released in the past, the Good Smile Company has revealed its plans to release new collectible numbers for the rest of the core group. The official Twitter account representing the company has shared the first look at the prototype Nendoroids now in the works, and while there’s still a lot of work to be done, it’s great to see that the new numbers based on Kurama, Hiei and Kazuma Kuwabara are up and running. It’s not likely that the anime will be back anytime soon, but Yo Yo Hakusho It currently has a new live event adaptation that’s working with Netflix. Co-produced by Shueisha, TOHO, and ROBOT, and due to release worldwide in December 2023, Netflix begins describing the new Yu Yu Hakusho series as such, “The manga is about Yusuke Urameshi, a high school student who spends his days arguing and dies in an accident. While trying to protect a young child, while grappling with the fact that he’s looking at his dead body, a woman named Botan, who calls herself a mentor to the spirit world, brings him the horrific truth: No one expected a delinquent like Yusuke to die doing a good deed, and it wasn’t his A place in heaven or hell.”

The synopsis continues by saying, “Thus, Yusuke is given a chance to revive him, and after passing his trial, he becomes an underworld detective. From there, Yusuke becomes entangled in a mystery surrounding human, demonic, and spiritual realms.
