Steam Deck buyers get more good news from Valve

Valve has shared more good news with those who pre-ordered Steam Deck and are now waiting to purchase the entire portable PC platform. Over the past month, Valve revealed that it will speed up production and shipping of Steam Deck, which means buyers will be able to get their hands on the hardware sooner than previously thought. Now, those orders appear to be speeding up once again as Valve has now announced that shipping is increasing at a higher rate than previously thought.

Shared on social media today, Valve let Steam Deck customers know that even more invitations to buy the platform than usual will be going off on a weekly basis. “Hi everyone, just a quick note that starting with this morning’s batch of Steam Deck order invites, we’ve increased the number of emails we send (again),” Valve said in its posted announcement. “We’re excited to put more of these in your hands!”

Overall, it’s great to see this for several reasons. Those with Steam Deck pre-orders will now not be able to get the platform sooner than expected, but this also shows that production for a number of video game platforms could accelerate.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, it has been difficult to buy PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and many other components for PC. To find out that Valve has now managed to increase Steam Deck production to this level although it indicates that other video game platforms could become widely available in the coming weeks and months. It remains to be seen if this happens to all companies or not, but if nothing else, those still waiting to secure their Steam Deck order should be pleased with today’s news.
