Adams described entering Rome High School, about 75 miles northwest of Atlanta, on Friday morning when he heard a “big bang.”

according to local policethe wreckage included a car smashing into oncoming traffic to avoid a truck, and a 50-year-old woman was trapped inside one of the vehicles.

“It was very loud,” Adams said. “The car broke. There was glass everywhere.”

“As soon as I saw the car smoking, I was thinking as if the car was going to explode,” added Adams colleague Anthony Curry.

Adams and Curry – along with fellow footballers Cesar Parker, Messiah Daniels, Tyson Brown and Alto Moore – walked out of school to respond to the incident across the street.

Luis Goya, a math teacher who witnessed the accident and called 911, said: “They literally started using their power to open the door so the lady could be released. After a few seconds of pulling and pushing the door, the boys finished. He opened it and helped her out of the car.”

She just repeated, saying, ‘Help me,’ said Carrey. Help me. Help me.”

Goya called the boys “angels”.

“The Roma High School footballers really showed up today. They went above and beyond to help this lady without hesitation,” he wrote on Facebook.

As for Adams and Carey, they told “GMA” they did what they had to do and I just hope the woman rescued from the accident is OK.
