Tatiana Maslany stars as ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ in new Disney+ series!

Los Angeles — She-Hulk has been around the Marvel universe for more than 40 years, first appearing in her comic book in 1980.

Now she is appearing in her own series on Disney+.

Tatiana Maslany stars in the movie “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.”

When the series begins, Maslany is attorney Jennifer Walters. She’s with her cousin, Bruce Banner (aka Hulk) when they get into a car accident. His blood enters her system and suddenly, she has a new alternate personality: She-Hulk.

Now she just needs to train the right superheroes, whether she likes it or not.

“It’s kind of resisting the superhero thing,” Maslany said. “So when you’re fighting or when you’re doing anything physical, it’s from the same place that your alter ego Jennifer Walters is going to work.”

Besides the physicality of the role, she also had to learn how to whine.

“There’s a reason She-Hulk resonates with so many women, and I think the ability to whine is in all of us,” Maslani said. “She’s just waiting for permission.”

She’s clearly having fun here but Maslany, an Emmy Award winner for “Orphan Black,” said she’s been resistant to doing something like this for a long time.

“But when I read the script, it was very much about the character,” she said. “It was a lot about this person trying to live their life somehow, but suddenly being seen as something completely different and how she navigates between these two versions of her identity depending on how people perceive her. All of these things felt really exciting to me.”

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law begins airing on Disney+ on Thursday.

Disney is the parent company of this ABC station.
