Dick Vitale: ESPN analyst announces he is cancer free after lengthy battles with lymphoma, melanoma!

ESPN analyst Dick Vitale declared him cancer-free after long battles with lymphoma and melanoma.

“Dr Rick Brown just informed me of the results of my major pet examination And he told me news that I hope every cancer patient hears,” the college basketball analyst wrote on Twitter. “Dick has gone from being in remission to being cancer-free,” he said! Thank you to all of you who sent me (prayer).”

The veteran broadcaster, famous for his stylized style and love of the game, broke the news of developing lymphoma in 2021 after undergoing several surgeries to get rid of skin cancer.

He later announced that he was taking a break from playing games to relax his vocal cords.

In an article on ESPN, Vitaly wrote that experts told him there was a 90% cure rate for the type of lymphoma he had.

Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is an important part of the immune system. The lymphatic system consists of ducts, or tubes, throughout the body with filters called lymph nodes along the path. The system carries a clear fluid with immune immune cells such as lymphocytes.

Vital has worked with ESPN right from the network’s launch in September 1979. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008. The network released a documentary tribute to analyst “Dickey F.” on ESPN+ in July.
