Mark Ruffalo apologizes to Chris Evans after She-Hulk’s Captain America was revealed by She-Hulk

The first episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Now out in the world, it seems to change a lot of what we thought we knew about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to creating the original story for Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany), the first episode included some unique nods to the franchise’s larger lore — including a reference to Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) that basically broke the Internet. Spoilers for the series premiere She-Hulk: Attorney at Law less! Just see if you want to know!

The episode features a running gag surrounding Jane’s theories about Steve, where she initially argues that due to his busy schedule stretching decades to protect the country, he may have ended up in the death of a virgin. The episode’s post-credits scene returns to the possibility, in which a drunk Gene laments Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) that Steve died a virgin, only for Bruce to reveal that Steve had actually lost his virginity to a girl on a USO tour in the 1940s. The revelation and Jane’s priceless reaction to it impressed Marvel fans, even Evans himself reacted to the news with a string of emojis. Ruffalo then responded to Evans’ tweet with an apology, joking “Sorry, brother. He was under extreme duress.”

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complex life of a single 30-year-old lawyer who also happens to be a stout green hulk of 6 feet 7 inches. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Tim Roth as Abomination, Charlie Cox as Daredevil, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga as Nikki Ramos, Josh Segara as Augustus “Pug” Pugliese, John Bass as Todd, and Renée Elise Goldsberry as Mallory Book. The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Luis de Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Cuero, and Jessica Jau. The co-executive producers are Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth.
