Actor Gary Busey charged with sex offenses after incident at Monster-Mania Con in New Jersey!

Sherry Hill, NJ – Gary Busey was charged with sex crimes at a New Jersey fan conference this month.

Cherry Hill Police said Saturday that the 78-year-old, California resident, has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual intercourse in the fourth degree, one count of attempted criminal sexual intercourse, and one count of harassment.

Police said the charges stem from crimes that occurred at the annual Monster Mania conference at the Doubletree Hotel August 12-14 in Cherry Hill, a suburb of Philadelphia.

The actor was identified as a featured guest throughout the event’s three days.

Police did not identify the suspect as the actor, giving an age and town that matched the actor’s age. An email was sent to them asking for identity confirmation and other details.

It was not immediately clear if the suspect had a lawyer, and a representative of the actor did not immediately send a letter seeking comment on Saturday.

Busey is widely known as a character actor, largely in supporting roles, although he drew attention and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for playing the title role in the 1978 movie “The Buddy Holly Story.”
