Six seasons on The CW’s Riverdale She is known not only for having some totally banana plot twists – Season 6 included alternate dimensions, time travel, supernatural powers, resurrection, and actual apocalypse to name a few – but also for its often mature portrayal of its teenage characters and their complex relationships. However, while there’s no shortage of Riverdale’s most active moments, it turns out there is one definite rule of thumb to keep things at least somewhat family friendly. While recently appearing on happy sad confused Podcast (via EW), series star Lili Reinhart revealed that tongue-kissing scenes are not allowed, even in the timeline when the characters are real adults.
“You can only be an adult on the CW show, because you’re not really allowed to kiss with the tongue,” said Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper. “This side of things [is] Simple difference.”
When it comes to things being ‘a little different’ RiverdaleIn regards to the series’ seventh and final season, the running types of kissing probably won’t be the main concern for fans. The season six finale saw Riverdale threatened with utter destruction thanks to Percival Pickens who put Billy’s comet on a collision course with the city with Pip, even though Sheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) was able to stop it using the combined supernatural powers of herself and her friends. Riverdale was saved, but with a twist: Everyone was sent to high school and back in time — to 1955, to be exact.
“He came from two places,” said Aguirre-Sacasa. “At different points in the season, we talked about what last season could have been, and a lot of people were very nostalgic when the kids were in high school.” EW. “KJ Apa told me at one point, ‘Man, remember when we were in high school, and I was on the soccer team? And the CW’s Mark Bedowitz had a conversation with John Goldwater and said something like, “Do you remember when the kids were in high school?” We talked about it in the room, and we were kind of, oh, my God, can we go back and bring everyone back to high school? But we did. They had been in high school for over four years. It would seem like a repetition. So, we were in trouble.”
He continued, “I felt like all we were going to do for season seven was kind of a lesser version of our high school years. But thinking about nostalgia and then coming out of our super, legendary, Stephen King-like season, we knew we needed to make our last season really special.” One thing everyone can agree on is that whenever we have our characters in their famous ’50s comic strip outfits, people are happy. [Sprouse] He was so glad he never had to wear a beanie again, but he said to me, “But, man, I’ll wear this crown until the day I die.” So, we thought: What if we went back to high school, but instead of high school nowadays, we made it high school in the 1950s which is what a lot of people think of Archie’s characters.”
Riverdale It will return for its seventh and final season in 2023.
