She-Hulk Episode 1 Had The Ultron Callback Era We All Lost

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues at full speed, with the superhero franchise weaving an impressive web of new stories. The newest on the list is She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, live series chronicling the origin of Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany). The first episode dealt with exactly how Jane obtained her enhanced gamma powers, and the way it affected her relationship with her cousin, Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). In the process, she appears to have played a classified line of dialogue in the MCU nearly a decade ago, during Avengers: Age of Ultron. Spoilers for the first episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law less! Just see if you want to know!

After Jane is accidentally granted superpowers after she and Bruce crash into a car wreck, she ends up at Bruce’s Mexico resort, where he wants to help her hone her abilities further. In between training, Jen and Bruce drink margaritas and hang out in a beachside cabana, which Bruce actually built with Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) during the five years of The Blip. While this connection to Tony does manifest itself in some endearing ways throughout the episode, it takes on a whole other meaning when you think back to a particular scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

In the Omar Ultron The scene, when Bruce and Tony are arguing about the ethics of creating Ultron, Bruce doubts it can actually succeed. Tony answers back with Our job is ‘IF’. What if you were sipping a margarita on a sunny beach, and it turned brown instead of green? “

While that Omar Ultron The moment is not directly referenced in the file Strong woman episode, it definitely adds another layer to Bruce’s new status quo – and the way his “science brother” Tony helped make it happen.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complex life of a single 30-year-old lawyer who happens to be a powerful green hulk at 6 feet 7 inches tall. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Tim Roth as Abomination, Charlie Cox as Daredevil, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga as Nikki Ramos, Josh Segara as Augustus “Pug” Pugliese, Jon Bass as Todd, and RenĂ©e Elise Goldsberry as Mallory Book. The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Luis de Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Cuero, and Jessica Jau. The co-executive producers are Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth.
