Blade video game from Ubisoft likely in the works

It looks like a Marvel Blade-related video game could be in the works at video game publisher Ubisoft. Currently, there are a large number of Marvel video games in play which include Spider-Man from Marvel 2And the Midnight from MarvelAnd the Wolverine Marveland other projects rumored to be related to Black Panther and Iron Man. As such, it’s clear that Marvel itself is looking to create a number of titles based on some of the most popular characters which may now have led to a collaboration with Ubisoft.

Spotted by YouTube channel gurraptorHowever, recent social media posts over the past month seem to tease that the game Blade may be in development. At the end of July, actor Edwin Gaffney posted two new photos on social media to tease Ubisoft’s ongoing motion capture business. Although Gaffney did not specifically mention the game he was working on with Ubisoft, he did share a tag image with the word “Marvel” as the production name. For this reason, it is assumed that Marvel could do something alongside the publisher in France.

So why is this Ubisoft game thought to be specifically linked to Blade? Well, the tag that Gaffney shared in the photo also had the name “B. Tariq” next to the director’s line. For those unaware, Bassam Tarek is set to be the director of the next film code The movie is running at Marvel Studios. While it is not known how and why Tariq could be linked to this game, the appearance of his name on the tag may simply be a nuisance to the nature of this production.

It’s also worth noting that Gaffney shared a photo of himself and fellow actor Alex Martin each holding weapons that look like a katana. Given that Blade is the character most famous for using a sword to destroy her enemies, this is another reason why the mysterious project can be assumed to be linked to the Daywalker.

Obviously this is all just a guess at the moment, so take whatever is mentioned here with a big grain of salt. However, what has been brought up here is quite compelling, especially when you consider that Disney (which is the parent company of Marvel) has already licensed other properties like Star Wars and Avatar to Ubisoft. Seeing that Ubisoft can collaborate with Marvel Games isn’t much at all, especially since Marvel has shown in recent years that it wants to work with a wide range of studios.

What do you think of this whole situation? Do you think Ubisoft is currently working on Blade? And if not, what are these Gaffney-related annoyances instead? Let me know your own thoughts either in the comments or connect with me on Twitter at Trustworthy.
