Dragon Ball Super is going through an extended hiatus before the next arc

Dragon Ball Super has finally capped off with its long-running Granolah the Survivor arc, but the manga is taking a long pause in order to prepare for what’s to come in the next arc of the series! It was announced earlier this year that Dragon Ball Super will not only end the Granolah the Survivor arc sometime this year, but will also release the next arc in the series this year as well. Then it was confirmed in the latest chapter of the series that the fight against the Heeters was now over, but in a way that fans didn’t really expect.

Chapter 87 of Dragon Ball Super Officially marking the final events of the Granolah the Survivor arc, just like the end of the fight with Moro, the final moments of this arc directly evoked what happens next. Unfortunately, there will be some waiting like a file Viz Media’s version of the chapter states that “Dragon Ball Super will take a break for a while to prepare for the next arc!” This confirms previous reports about a possible hiatus in the series, but unfortunately there is no information on when the manga will return.

There’s no word on how long that hiatus will last, unfortunately, and the wait will get tougher given the huge confusion the series has left fans. It was revealed that Goku, Vegeta, and Granolah’s latest efforts against Gas weren’t enough to completely defeat Heeter, but that wasn’t the last surprise. After dropping several hints about Frieza’s possible role in the arc and his return to the series, Frieza is finally making a big comeback and revealing that he’s already much stronger than we’ve seen previously.

He’s been training back then since we last saw the villain, and his training has now shown his new “Black Frieza” form that’s much more powerful than anything Goku or Vegeta has been able to come up with since. Not only is this powerful villain now playing again after the Tournament of Power, but there’s no telling what kind of grand scheme he has in the works for the series’ next major arc.

What do you hope to see from the next arc of Dragon Ball Super? What do you think of Black Frieza’s debut? Let us know all your thoughts on this topic in the comments! You can also contact me directly about all the moving stuff and other cool stuff Valdezology on Twitter!
