UFC 278: Tyson Pedro defeated Harry Hansucker.
Tyson Pedro defeated Harry Hansucker via KO (kicks), Round 1 – 1:05 at UFC 278 on Saturday, August 20, 2022, live from Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“I feel like I’ve trained hard for this fight…to get it done like that is all there is to it,” Pedro said.
The fight started slowly as both of them cautiously sensed their opponent. Out of nowhere, Pedro caught Hunsucker with a left kick as Hunsucker was coming. A jab hit Hunsucker, allowing Pedro to follow through with a forward kick to the body that brought Hunsucker down. Pedro fired several unanswered punches until referee Mike Beltran stopped the fight. Pedro celebrated in the quietest way possible, sitting in the middle of the octagon until Beltran was ready to raise his hand.
After not competing in the UFC for four years, Pedro returned in April, knocking out Ike Villanueva in the first round of their fight. After being knocked out for the second time in a row, it looks like Pedro could be a contender on his comeback.
Hunsucker lost his first two UFC matches, being sent off by Justin Tafa and Tai Tuivasa. After fighting at the heavyweight, Hunsucker was relegated to the light heavyweight. After exiting at 65 seconds, Hunsucker’s time in the UFC may be over.
