A new rumor has indicated that PlayStation is about to launch a new show incredibly soon. Over the course of this summer, a number of PlayStation fans have been waiting for Sony to announce a dedicated event where news of upcoming first-party games will be revealed. And while we’ve had two presentations on the state of play over the course of 2022, it looks like a bigger presentation could happen in just a couple of weeks.
According to one of them Nick Baker, who previously had microscopes in relation to PlayStation, a new event associated with the gaming brand could happen on September 8. Previously, Baker joked that he had heard that Sony was planning to do some kind of broadcast in August. Based on new information he has received from a source that appears reliable, that date has changed and the event will now happen in the early part of next month. Baker himself emphasized that this date may not be accurate, so take this information with caution.

Overall, this date for a PlayStation event makes sense for a number of reasons. For starters, PlayStation chose to hold its last “PlayStation Showcase” presentation last year in the same month. At this time it revealed games like Spider-Man from Marvel 2And the Wolverine Marvelshowing the first trailer for God of War Ragnarok. As such, September appears to be the new window in which Sony would love to reveal news regarding upcoming PS5 and PS4 games.
Beyond that, though, Sony has been incredibly quiet throughout 2022 that it needs to start making some significant announcements. the aforementioned God of War Ragnarok It’s due out in November and outside of some promotional trailers that have arrived in recent months, we haven’t seen anything new from the title in almost a year. In addition, Sony hasn’t given much guidance on what the list of upcoming games in 2023 and beyond will look like. As such, it looks like it’s time to find out more about what the future holds for PS5.
