while talking to NEWSWEEKThe star spoke about how acclaimed director Edgar Wright couldn’t get over the visual similarities between Lara Croft and her emily the criminal Letter. revealed:

I can totally see it. Aubrey Plaza just might be the one leading a new iteration of this franchise. The character has already been shot on the big screen twice, but maybe the third time is magic? She portrayed Angelina Jolie Croft twice, once in 2001 and again in 2003. In 2018, Alicia Vikander took on the role of Warner Bros. Reboot.
Although the 2018 film was a moderate success at the box office, the studio is still apparently set to follow through. Someone has to make this happen. Regardless of the visual similarities, Aubrey Plaza has at this point proven to be a powerful performer who can work within different genres. And quite frankly, it would be great to see her get more action-centric roles. (Many think Plaza could be perfect for some Marvel characters.) On top of all that, she loves to host the Oscars and become the “Billy Crystal of this generation”. She truly is a woman who can do everything.
We just have to wait and see if the star will actually land the lead in another role Tomb rider Reboot. Although after noticing Edgar Wright, it would be really hard not to cast anyone else in that role except happiest season alum. Let’s hope you at least get an audition at some point in the future.
