If all of these features sound familiar, it is because they are basically the same features you get in Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller. Microsoft’s high-end console is an excellent console, with its biggest hit being the $179 price tag. If the DualSense Edge performs in addition to the Elite 2, Sony will gain a big ground over Microsoft in terms of who has the best console on the market.
DualSense Edge: Features
The biggest benefit of consoles like the newly announced Xbox Elite 2 or DualSense Edge is customization — and you can customize a lot. You can reset buttons, create multiple profiles, and even switch covers of the stick (standard, low dome, high dome) and back buttons (half dome and arm). There’s also an analog selector for trigger sensitivity with three settings, so you can really get an edge on the competition with this controller.
Personally, the assignable back buttons are the main feature, and why I love the Xbox Elite Wireless Series 1 Wireless Controller so much. They allow you to move your hands and fingers less noticeably when playing, which is key to maintaining an edge in many games, from Rocket League to me Call of duty.
In addition to customization, the DualSense Edge also comes with the ability to completely replace the stick modules in the controller. This could allow users to significantly extend the life of their console if the feature works as advertised. And of course, it comes with all the standard features PS5 DualSense Controller.
DualSense Edge: Release date and price
Unfortunately, Sony’s announcement didn’t come with a release date or price point. Given its similarities to the Xbox Elite 2, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it come at a similar price. especially that Xbox Series X control and Dual Shock 4 (and then PS5 DualSenseThe controls weren’t significantly different in terms of list price.
However, Sony may want to lower the price (even to $150) to give those who aren’t the most ardent PS5 fans a reason to choose DualSense Edge over Elite 2 for PC gaming. Although Sony has not confirmed that the DualSense Edge will work on PC, it would be a serious mistake to put a high-end controller that does not support PC.
