CM Punk spoke with Sports Illustrated This is the week before the AEW World Championship unification match tonight and try to drop all the behind-the-scenes reports regarding the behind-the-scenes drama in AEW. After calling out Hangman Page at the start of AEW Dynamite last week, reports suggest Punk had a beef jerky with Page over comments that led to double or nothing Featured, as well as sources say Choose a fight tThere was a fear that Dynamite would not be offered or even leave the company. Punk denied these sentiments, saying that he feels 100% creative at All Elite Wrestling.
“You’re trying not to put too much stock in internet rumours,” Bank said. “But for AEW, I think that’s definitely part of our audience. Twitter isn’t real. On top of that, there’s a lie that makes its way around the world twice before the truth puts on its shoes or gets out of bed.
“If I address every rumor, I will stay here all day,” he continued. “I love AEW. It’s not a contest for who loves it most or who is heart and soul, or who is this and who is that. AEW gave me a second chance to do what I do best, and this is professional wrestling.”
Punk continued, “It’s one side of the story. My playroom is never closed. It’s always open. Anyone who wants to DM [the Wrestling Observer’s Dave] Meltzer some bulls – can you come talk to me about it. It’s not manly, stupid bulls -. I am an adult. Come and talk to me.”
Within an hour of Punk’s SI drop interview, combat choiceShaun Ross Sapp reports that a mandatory talent meeting will take place today in Cleveland before tonight’s Dynamite.
“The talent we’ve heard from is expected to address some of the rumors of disruption, contract inquiries, and personal issues, as well as those things being leaked,” Sapp wrote, noting that AEW President Tony Khan would be present.
