New interview with vampire teaser previews baby vampire killer Claudia

We are getting closer and closer to AMC debut Interview with the vampire, adapted from the popular Anne Rice novel of the same name and now, the network has released a new small teaser spotlighting the third primary vampire in the Gothic horror story: the vampire child Claudia, played by Billy Bass. As you can see in the action teaser below, the girl-turned-vampire is particularly deadly – and she seems to take great pleasure in it.

Bass talk with ComicBook.com At San Diego Comic-Con about playing Claudia with Bass saying that the character is very complex, but there is a lot of fun to play as well.

“I would say it’s like what you said, it’s very complicated, but that makes it interesting,” Bass said. “Like, I wanted a challenge. I wanted to be able to play with so many emotions she’s feeling because she’s stuck in this 14-year-old’s body, her brain never developing. She feels things so deeply. So, it was really fun to be able to read Such a wonderful scenario and diving into all the situations she has to deal with.”

The upcoming series is the latest adaptation of Rice’s novel, most notably the 1994 film starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. However, the series’ executive producer Mark Johnson has previously said that the series is “more true to the book” than the movie — despite Rice writing for the movie scene.

“We tried to be as true to the spirit of the book as possible, but it’s a very recent interpretation,” Johnson said. “In many ways, our show is more honest about the book than the movie was, which is ironic because it was Anne Rice herself who wrote the screenplay.”

Johnson also said that the series, which follows vampire Louis de Points du Lac (Jacob Anderson) as he shares his life story with journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), is a character-driven series that will center around the love story between Louis and Lestat. .

Interview with the vampire Above all, Johnson said a really beautiful love story. “As a result, unlike the movie, the series has less plot and more emotional, more character driven.”

In addition to focusing on the series as a love story, the trailer revealed a major story shift as well. In the novel, Louis’ life as a vampire begins in 1791 while the trailer reveals the scene of the early 20th century. Johnson previously spoke of the responsibility of adapting the beloved novel.

“Developing this series carries great pressure and responsibility,” the series’ executive producer Mark Johnson previously said of the adaptation. “What Anne Rice has created and what amazes her fans with compels us to take this transition from book to television with a great deal of responsibility. It is imperative that we do not disappoint her fans however we need to make sure that this story sings these characters out for a modern audience.”

He added, “We hope that this series will force fans of Anne Rice to rediscover her work. We also hope that those viewers who have never read Anne Rice’s novel will go to the library, eager to understand what all the fuss is about.”

Interview with the vampire It premieres on October 2nd on AMC and AMC+.
