Tampa Bay Rays catcher Christian Bethancourt had amazing results Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Angels.
Tampa Bay Rays owner Christian Bethancourt was thrown to close tonight against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday, with amazing results. He delivered a goalless run shortly after his home hit, and he ‘now knows what it’s like to feel’ [Shohei] Ohtani.
Bethancourt hit Homer to midfield to start the seventh inning, which, overall, had six runs from the Rays. His racket was on fire the entire match. according to MLB.com“He has tied his career to a high with three RBIs, a feat he hasn’t accomplished in the majors since August 6, 2016.”
The 30-year-old catcher could certainly be compared to Otani at that moment.
Ray hunter Christian Bethancourt definitely played like Shohei Ohtani
Although the two can’t usually be compared, Bethancourt had a great night straight against Ohtani that was worth celebrating. Ohtani played Tuesday’s game as a designated hitter and produced one hit in three. It did not produce any runs or RBIs.
On the other hand, Bethancourt produced one-stroke, one Homer and three RBIs in four at-bats. He is currently having the best season of his career. He doesn’t hit among the best in MLB, but he does hit .242/.283/.398 at an OPS of .681.
Ohtani arrives very well at .265/.356/.514 at an OPS of .870. That’s roughly average for him, but he’s a very popular name in the league because of his great hitting and shooting ability.
Bethancourt may not always play like Ohtani, but he got to experience all-night magic with more potential ahead.
