Riverdale He’ll return in 2023 for its seventh and final season, and over the past six seasons so far, viewers have seen the characters of the fan-favorite series all grow and change as situations in Town With Pep get weirder and more complex. Perhaps one of the biggest character transformations was Betty Cooper. Played by Lili Reinhart, a character that started simply when the girl next door became a more complex woman, now Reinhart is opening up about this character’s journey.

“I mean, it’s funny because that was really the description of her character. When we first talked about promoting the show, I remember the phrase ‘girl next door’ being thrown around a lot,” Reinhart said. Buzzfeed. “And I feel now, that’s not who she is. She’s always been so much more. She’s, quite literally, Archie’s next-door girl. So, that side still feels real. Fun and lovely to see.” [her grow]. I feel so lucky to be on a show that’s been on for this long, where you can really see a character evolve and grow. I have such love for her and will really miss her playing when the show is over, but I cherish her so much as a character. Which is weird because when you play a character, the identity can be muddled at times. But when I watch Betty, that’s too much Betty; not me. Thus, I will miss playing that specific character.”

Reinhart also recently spoke of her willingness to take on more “dramatic and deep roles” in her future career after Riverdale.

In a recent appearance on happy sad confused Podcast (via digital spy), Reinhart said that after Riverdale, she’ll be exploring more adult roles and that’s something she’s very excited about.

Reinhart, who is currently starring in Netflix’s Look both waysalso said that while she looks forward to what’s next for her in terms of the job, it’s still bittersweet to say goodbye to Riverdale.

“There are so many feelings. Bittersweet is the word, because obviously I’m going to miss this group of people I’ve been in my half twenties with. We’ll never all be together again working on the same thing, so I realize that, and I think we all realize that, And we are all sad about that,” Reinhart said. “It’s going to be a very sad day when it actually ends, but I think the show has done so much for all of us and we are all ready to show the world what we’ve got. What’s on the other side is very exciting. I’m very excited about the projects I’ve been developing with my production company on Over the past year and a half, we’ll be ready to shoot when Riverdale It ends next summer. But going into this final season, I think we’re all like, “This is our last resort, let’s really try to celebrate each other and spend time with each other because we’re never going to have this again.”

Back in May, The CW announced that the seventh season of Riverdale would be the finale with network chief Mark Pedowitz promising that the series would get a proper farewell.
