Marvel Studios recently started incorporating mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Mrs. Marvell And the Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madness. Fans have been waiting for the X-Men to appear in some form to join the Avengers team. One name constantly being thrown into the ring to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is Taron Egerton. The actor was a fan favorite for playing Weapon X due to his height and acting prowess, and now he’s been transformed into the character. A Marvel fan has created a cool concept featuring Egerton as the MCU’s Wolverine.
An Instagram artist with handle @Clements.Ink, has revealed a new piece of fan art that shows Egerton as the next Wolverine. The actor gets the classic Wolverine look in a black and yellow outfit, but the artist chose to give him a light hay instead of chops of lamb. You can check out our X-Men fan art below!
Egerton previously hinted at meetings with Marvel Studios when asked about these Wolverine fans. The actor offered some vague answers, but it’s certainly safe to say that he’s running for a role in the MCU. During a recent interview with The New York Times, the actor played shy about fan choice.
“I don’t think it would be wrong to say that,” Egerton said. “I’ll be excited but I’ll also be worried, because Hugh [Jackman] It’s so attached to this role that I wonder if it would be so difficult for someone else to do it.”
Back in August, Jackman shut down the idea of returning to the role that had made him so iconic. In an interview with Jakes Takes, the actor revealed that he has not had any conversations with Kevin Feige.
“I heard about this from you [Hamilton]And nothing in my inbox from Kevin Feige means it’s likely, no matter what idea I came up with, not on the table. I was like, we got the idea. We knew what it would be like, right? And I thought this is it. And it really helped me, it really helped me know that I was going into my last season, and it was my last season that I got the most out of it. She is still a person close to my heart. But I know it was done. Say that to whoever you want. Please tell that to Ryan [Reynolds]. Please because he likes, don’t believe anything I’m kidding.”
While it will likely be sometime before we see Wolverine again on the big screen, Marvel Studios’ latest movie has been Thor: Love and Thunder. The studio describes the film as follows: “The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey like never before – in search of inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic assassin known as the butcher of the god Gore (Christian Bale), who seeks… To annihilate the gods.To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Tica Waititi) and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who, to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably uses his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as Mighty Thor. Together, They embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the secret of the butcher god’s vengeance and stop it before it’s too late.”
The film is directed by Taika Waititi and stars Chris Hemsworth as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/Mighty Thor, Russell Crowe as Zeus, Jamie Alexander as Lady Sword, and Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star. Lord, Sean Gunn as Craiglin, Dave Bautista as Drax Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gore the Lord’s Butcher. In addition to directing, Waititi will reprise his role as Korg.
