Ad-supported Netflix tier can cost $7 to $9 per month

For the longest time, Netflix refused to offer an ad-supported category like its competitors. Currently, the service charges $9 for its Basic plan, $15.49 for its Standard plan, and $19.99 for its Premium tier. Customers who choose the ad-supported plan will experience about four minutes of commercials for every hour of content watched. This is slightly lower compared to traditional cable shows, which feature 10-20 minutes of advertisements per hour. It plans to run these ads before and during the show, but not after. Netflix is ​​currently in negotiations with advertisers and wants to start small so as not to confuse its customers.

It has long been rumored that the company will offer the ad-supported service by the end of the year.
