Donovan Mitchell has updated his Twitter bio which has members of the social media app hesitating about what might happen next.
The NBA trade market has been incredibly sluggish for the vast majority of this season, and news of available stars has been scattered for weeks. Donovan Mitchell is the best star available after Kevin Durant publicly renewed his pledges with the Brooklyn Nets.
The Utah Jazz were engaged in commercial discussions with a range of teams including the Cavaliers, who quickly withdrew, and the Knicks. There were many discussions with Nicks, and jazz demanded a lot.
Mitchell has reportedly not formally requested a trade, but his recent Twitter actions suggest a trade may be coming.
Donovan Mitchell has changed his Twitter bio, removing any mention of the Utah Jazz
Social media has become a place to look for early hints on what to expect in terms of player news and movements. While it seems silly to dismiss anything a player “likes” or what they represent on their resume, these references have often proven to be accurate.
Today, Donovan Mitchell has removed any mention of the Utah Jazz from his resume.
Of course, Twitter has gone into a frenzy.
Does it mean anything? Perhaps, but we should note that he also removed a mention of Louisville, which also appeared earlier in his autobiography. Maybe he’s just striving for a simpler aesthetic on his page, perhaps?
The schedule is interesting, though, considering that the Knicks took themselves out of the discussion last night when they extended RJ Barrett’s contract.
Suddenly, the Miami Heat seems to be the most logical destination.
