Fans have imagined several actors to play Wolverine in a reboot X-Men A franchise within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and plenty of artwork has been created so we can fully imagine the actor’s potential in the part. A big part of that conversation was Golden Globe winner Taron Egerton.
In an epic fan piece posted on Instagram, Taron Egerton is depicted with his fist raised and claws. He’s in a dark storm forest, perhaps hinting that a darker iteration of the character would be a good fit to portray Egerton. You can check out the post below.
Taron Egerton is no stranger to comic book franchises. His breakout role was alongside Colin Firth in Kingsman Movies. While he may not have the powers that Wolverine possesses in X-Men From the movies, he definitely had the brains to outshine the super villains played by Samuel L. Jackson and Julianne Moore. He’s definitely a favorite for the role, as Taron Egerton/Wolverine fan art has appeared before.
Marvel hasn’t officially announced that a Wolverine movie is in the works — or a file X-Men movie for that matter. However, it appears that the character was hinted at in an episode of Disney + She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. A headline on a website mentions “man with metal claws,” and that can definitely be a nuisance for what’s to come. Taron Egerton worked with the original realist Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, in the 2016 biopic Eddie the eagle. Egerton may have picked some pointers from the best.
After the Disney-Fox merger, Marvel appears to be very interested in integrating the X-Men characters into the MCU — and technically they already are. Patrick Stewart reprises his role as Professor X in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, although he plays a version of the character in an alternate universe. We may have to dive deeper into the multiverse before we see these lovable characters on screen again.
The rocket man The star isn’t the only actor considered by fans to be Wolverine. boysKarl Urban is another fan favorite when it comes to the role. Fans have also expressed interest in seeing Daniel Radcliffe play Wolverine, but Harry Potter The alum ridiculed the rumours. I’m sure the fan theories aren’t going to stop any time soon.
We may have to wait a while before we see Taron Egerton, or someone for that matter like Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it’s hard not to imagine that it was worth the wait. In the meantime, you can catch Egerton in the short series blackbird, which is broadcast exclusively to Apple TV + subscribers.
