Several years later, the “sequel trilogy” in Star Wars is still the subject of lengthy debate, with fans having horrific feelings about how the Skywalker Saga is coming to an end. Whereas the finale of that corner of the saga was 2019 JJ Abrams-helmed Star Wars: The Rise of SkywalkerEpisode 9 initially took a completely different shape, with jurassic worldColin Trevorrow formerly lined up to write and direct. In the years that followed, details surrounding Trevorrow’s verses were canceled from the film, which could have been tentatively called Star Wars: Duel of DestiniesThey’re out – and even one of the stars of the saga weighs in on them. John Boyega, who played Finn in the franchise, recently said Happy, sad, confused audio notation It’s “sad” for what it could have been.
“I can’t read that because I would be sad, because I was…I sat with Colin,” Boyega explained. “I want to tell you…this is one of the best Star Wars…meetings I’ve ever had because it felt like two nerds who were like, ‘Yeah, that’s what we want to see!'” “…and I saw Art, you know, Storm Soldiers rebelled, I was like, those things were cold.”
“I hope Lucasfilm can give him a chance in the future maybe to work on something else, you know?” Boyega continued. “Because I’m sure they would like to collaborate with him again in any capacity.”
In interviews earlier this year, Trevorrow revealed that he still felt “deeply satisfied” with having worked on the film, even if his novel didn’t come to fruition.
“It was complicated. But, honestly, I mean, since we’re talking about 2022, I can honestly say I’m very grateful for [Lucasfilm president] Kathy [Kennedy] Realizing that she and I wouldn’t be making a movie we’d be proud of together,” Trevorrow shared with Ibrox. “She’s been doing this for a long time and she takes care of me and I take care of her and her family. [producer] sincere [Marshall] And I’m still partners. I’m part of this group of amazing filmmakers, so it was a complicated moment, but now that I’ve been able to do this and really feel like this… I’m glad I did. I am very comfortable doing this. I appreciate that she had the wisdom to see something that, frankly, I’m not sure I could have seen because I was so in touch with the story I wanted to tell.”
