Star Wars actor John Boyega reveals his sad thoughts about Colin Trevorrow’s plans for Episode IX

Several years later, the “sequel trilogy” in Star Wars is still the subject of lengthy debate, with fans having horrific feelings about how the Skywalker Saga is coming to an end. “I hope Lucasfilm can give him a chance in the future maybe to work on something else, you know?” Boyega continued. “Because I’m sure they would like to collaborate with him again in any capacity.”

In interviews earlier this year, Trevorrow revealed that he still felt “deeply satisfied” with having worked on the film, even if his novel didn’t come to fruition.

“It was complicated. But, honestly, I mean, since we’re talking about 2022, I can honestly say I’m very grateful for [Lucasfilm president] Kathy [Kennedy] Realizing that she and I wouldn’t be making a movie we’d be proud of together,” Trevorrow shared with Ibrox. “She’s been doing this for a long time and she takes care of me and I take care of her and her family. [producer] sincere [Marshall] And I’m still partners. I’m part of this group of amazing filmmakers, so it was a complicated moment, but now that I’ve been able to do this and really feel like this… I’m glad I did. I am very comfortable doing this. I appreciate that she had the wisdom to see something that, frankly, I’m not sure I could have seen because I was so in touch with the story I wanted to tell.”
