Avril Lavigne celebrates Walk of Fame Star with MGK, Mod Sun

Pop punk princess Avril Lavigne was crowned with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday. The party, which was timed to the 20th anniversary of her debut album “Let Go,” was a complete moment for Lavigne, who said diverse In an interview, she visited Street Famous on her first trip to Los Angeles at the age of 16.

Lavigne recalled that first encounter with the star as she spoke, revealing a photo of her younger self alongside what appears to be the Tom Cruise star (the photo instantly fell off her carrier as soon as she removed her cover, to the audience’s laughter). “So I’m 16 and I’m on my first trip to Hollywood, and of course I had to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame because it’s iconic,” Lavigne said. In the photo, she’s wearing a navy blue sweatshirt displaying the brand’s words “Skating is not a crime,” and in a tender moment of nostalgia, Lavigne switched to a sweatshirt right then and there.

“I can remember seeing these legendary names, and I never would have imagined my name would be here,” said Lavigne, her sweatshirt hood resting over her head. “This is so crazy. I am so grateful. This is probably one of the most wonderful days of my life.”

After thanking some of the important figures in the audience, including fiancé Mod Sun, producer and Goldfinger man John Feldmann, co-writer Lauren Christy and Machine Gun Kelly collaborator, Lavigne ended her talk on an encouraging note. “Today, I love making music more than ever. I feel so inspired. I hope that the next 16-year-old from his small town who comes to Hollywood one day, full of hopes and dreams, will see this star and think to himself, ‘Oh my God,’ My name may be there one day, too. She said. “What a wonderful twenty years, and I can’t wait for the next twenty, bitches! Let’s go!”

Feldman and Kelly also gave speeches in honor of Lavigne, with Feldman – who produced her latest album “Love Sux” along with Travis Barker and Mod Sun – recalling how Lavigne was fired from The Goldfinger Show at age 15.

“She told me that the first stage of her dive was 15 at my Goldfinger concert in Toronto, and she was kicked out of the show for diving on stage. So, what an epic friendship,” Feldman said. “[During the recording of ‘Love Sux’] You would come every day and ask me, “Do you have a gift for me?” That is, do I have an idea or some kind of idea for a song, and it has made me feel important, valuable, and needed. It’s what Avril makes you feel when you’re in the room with her.”

Kelly, with whom Lavigne spent the summer on their joint US tour, shared Lavigne’s impact on both his professional and personal life before they met.

“You’ve been with me for longer than you know,” Kelly said. “You were with me all the times my heart broke, and your music was in my headphones. You inspired a generation of kids like me who wore baggy jeans and skateboards and didn’t fit the MTV version of what the girls wanted. And when I made ‘Sk8er Boi’, that was the hope that held on. with it “.

Other celebrities in attendance included Jaxden, Ryan Cabrera and Joel Madden. Watch the full live stream below.
