New Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch competitor ahead of reveal

With Steam Deck dominating Valve’s list of best sellers, and the Nintendo Switch now having a handheld competitor at this point, another company is looking to roll out a third one on the go. Logitech recently announced this month its intent to roll out “handheld cloud gaming,” but before Logitech and partner Tencent officially revealed the device, it appears to have already been leaked. Images supposedly showing this portable unit appeared online this week and were deleted shortly thereafter, but not before those same images were re-shared elsewhere to see more.

Evan Blass We first shared three images showing off Logitech’s new cloud gaming device, but these images didn’t last long. Another image shared after the first three were removed depicts a listing for the device which included a summary of its specifications, but seeing as how the thing hasn’t been officially revealed yet, we don’t know yet if all of them are accurate.

The photos in question were quickly re-shared by other users on social media, so they are all readily available for those interested to find them at this point.

Leaked images and supposed specifications show that this will be an Android device, and on the displayed screen we see the icons for Xbox, Steam, and more. These two platforms have made remarkable strides in ensuring that their games can be played via cloud-based technologies with the Xbox Game Pass catalog in particular being an attractive source for games like this that can be played from a traditional console. When Logitech announced the device, the tech company touted the promising qualities of cloud gaming and specifically mentioned the Xbox as well as the NVIDIA GeForce NOW platform.

“Logitech G and Tencent Games share a common vision for the future of gaming and are committed to ensuring that quality experience comes together seamlessly to deliver on the exciting promise of gaming from the cloud.” press release Shared previously said. “Cloud gaming uses data center servers to broadcast video games to consumers. There is no need to download or install PC or console games. Instead, games are viewed and played on remote servers, and users interact with them locally on their devices.”

Logitech has not officially revealed its new mobile device, but a A page on the company’s website Offers a place to sign up for more information when it becomes available.
