Ubisoft shares the good news for Assassin’s Creed fans

Ubisoft has some good news for those who still play some of their older, but more classic games, especially Assassin’s Creed fans. One of the downsides of modern games is that almost all games have some kind of online functionality. Some are leaderboards only, some are proprietary mechanics, but some have online modes. In the late 2000s and early 2000s, there was a major push for some of the biggest franchises to implement multiplayer modes. This is how we ended up with single player games like Assassin’s Creed you get PVP modes with unique progression systems etc. However, Assassin’s Creed found a unique angle and tried its best to make it work, creating some fans along the way.

Previously, Ubisoft announced that a number of its online games from the Xbox 360 era will shut down their servers on September 1. This infuriated some fans, but Ubisoft decided To keep the lights on for a little longer. Assassin’s Creed II Editing HDAnd the far cry 3And the Splinter Cell: BlacklistAnd a number of other games will have servers running until October 1, giving players an extra month to play them. This means that you will have time to try out their online modes or clean up any multiplayer achievements you may be missing. After that, everything will be closed, to the chagrin of fans. PC players with any single player DLC will need to activate them before October 1, but console players don’t need to do anything else. You can view the list of affected games below.

  • Assassin’s Creed II
  • Assassin’s Creed III
  • Fighting the creed of the Brotherhood
  • Revelation Killer Creed
  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD
  • San Francisco driver
  • far cry 3
  • Ghost Recon Future Soldier
  • Prince of Persia, the forgotten desert
  • Rayman Legends
  • Silent Hunter 5
  • Splinter Cell: Blacklist
  • ZombiU

Unfortunately, this is the nature of modern games. All good things should come to an end, but at least some of these titles have been reworked, and those versions won’t be affected. Anyone who enjoys the functionality of these titles online through backwards compatibility will unfortunately not do so after October 1st.
