Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Two women are recovering after being shot while sitting outside an apartment in Spring Branch Thursday night.
The police are still working to find the suspects.
Investigators said the shooting took place at the Valencia Spring Branch apartment complex in Long Point around 9 p.m.
A security video reportedly shows two young men walking past the two women – who were sitting outside an apartment on the ground floor of the complex.
After walking past the victims, one of the men reportedly stopped and fired a pistol multiple times, hitting the two women.
Police said it was not clear if the two groups had spoken anything before the shooting.
“At close range, one of the young men turned with a pistol and shot it several times, six to seven times we know, at the two ladies, hitting both,” Lieutenant Wilkins said. “They’re on foot. They left. We don’t know where they are. We don’t know who they are.”
Investigators said one of the women was shot in the upper part of her torso or in the arm area, while the other was shot in the feet. The police described the victims as elderly women.
They were taken to the hospital, but their condition is unknown.
