Chelsea striker Armando Bruja has signed a new long-term contract with the club that runs until 2028.

Despite the transfer interest, the Albania international, who spent last season on loan with Southampton, has dedicated his future to the team.

He has already played in three Premier League games for the Blues this season, and so far, he appears to be a regular part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Speaking to the club’s website, Brugga said: “I’m really at a loss for words.” It’s the team I’ve always wanted to play with, the team I cheer for, the team I adore. It’s a strange feeling for me and my family because I’ve lived here since I was a boy.

He came through the Blues academy in 2019, but has only made four first-team appearances, three of which came this year.

Before signing on loan with Saints Ralph Hassenhuttl last season, Broja played the 2020-21 season on loan with Dutch club Vitesse, scoring 11 goals in 34 matches.

Although Southampton and a few other English teams were keen to sign him on a permanent basis, Bogga decided to make Stamford Bridge their future home.

After a busy day with the transfer deadline, Broja’s contract extension is Thomas Tuchel’s latest business transaction.
