Deadly shooting: 2 people killed near Exonn along Neiman Street in northwest Houston, police say!

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – At least two people were killed during a shooting near a gas station in northwest Houston Saturday morning, police said.

At about 8:10 a.m., Houston Police Department officers said they received a call from a passerby who allegedly saw a man forcefully brandishing a gun near Exxon in the 1300 block of Nieman Lane.

Upon arrival, HPD’s Lt. Mark Contreras said the man had “stated that he killed a few people,” including his cousin.

Police arrested a man believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties, and confiscated a handgun at the scene.

Investigators said the man appeared to have a mental disability.

Within walking distance of where the man was seen, officers said they found two men and a woman with bullet wounds.

Police said the woman and one of the men died of their injuries.

Contreras said the other man, who was shot, was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Police described a second scene on an acre of land with large shipping containers in a wooded area.

Another man who was sleeping inside one of those containers was arrested at the time of the shooting, but police say the man was unaware of what was happening.

Investigators believe that several people live inside these containers. It is unclear if the suspect also lives there.
