Kevin Smith and Mark Bernardine work on the Secret TV Project

Kevin Smith and Mark Bernardan are working on a TV project – but they haven’t shared details about it yet. During the last episode of Fatman Beyond audio notationSmith revealed that he and Bernardine were working on a project together that, at least from the way Bernardine described it, could be the thing that “would win Kevin and an Emmy.”

“Mark and I are having these conversations… we talk about things we can’t tell you, Mark and I are working on something else,” Smith said. “Remember, Mark was like ‘I have an idea.’ He told me the idea and I was ‘Fuck out of here.’ We worked on it and it’s moving.”

Although there are no details on what this “moving along” thing entails, Bernardin added comments that make it sound like the project started as a movie only to turn into something for TV – making it an Emmy-eligible if it came to that. fruits.

“Kevin was supposed to win an Oscar but now it looks like he’s going to win Kevin and an Emmy. Maybe he’s going to win all the Emmys,” Bernardine said.

It’s a somewhat ambiguous update as these things continue, but it wasn’t the only project Smith talked about during the podcast. The director, who is out to promote his latest film, Upcoming third clerks, also provided an update on the follow-up to his 2014 horror film, Tusk. Smith confirmed that a sequel is already in the works, with plans for 2024.

“Since the heart attack I’ve been on downtime,” Smith said in his latest podcast Fatman Beyond. The year 2024 will mark the tenth anniversary of tusk…we could just leave it there and move on, but you know I have more stories left to tell, there’s a reason why we left him at the zoo in the end. I always knew while we were doing the movie, “I’m totally going to do this again.” I thought we’d have the late, great Michael Parkes with us for a while longer, but unfortunately it’s not, but I know we’ve got Justin (Long).”

Teasing the movie’s plot topic, Smith added, “Early on I was always like, OK, at the end, they’re going to get them out of that walrus skin and try to rehabilitate them. And like Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight ReturnsHe will only see himself in one direction. Then he becomes Howard Howe, Justin Long becomes the madman trying to turn people into something else, Chimera things, half human and half anything. Last time it was a walrus, this time…you’ll see.”
