Maika Monroe returns with another genre effort, as a trailer for the upcoming action thriller significant other It was released by Paramount +. Back in 2014, Monroe starred in both guest And the Follow, two of the genre’s most acclaimed efforts of the year, instantly making it onto horror fans’ radar. While she hasn’t immediately followed up with horror movies after those high profile shows, recent projects like miscreantsTV series the strangerand this year observer I saw her fully return to the field, which earned her a passionate following. significant other It follows a young couple (Maika Monroe & Jake Lacy) who take a remote backpacking trip across the Pacific Northwest, but things take a dark turn when they realize they may not be alone.
The film was written and directed by Dan Burke and Robert Olsen, who previously co-starred with Monroe miscreants. Also starring in the film are Loudon McCleary and Till Scherer.
Building on the cult success of Monroe’s distinct roles, many audiences hope we can get a follow-up to either of the two adventures, as the actor has previously considered such opportunities.
“I definitely love working with him [director] David [Robert Mitchell] repeatedly. This would be a dream, but, you know, we’ll just have to wait and see,” Monroe shared with ComicBook.com in 2020 when asked about Follow sequel.
