The Boys Showrunner offered to support Erin Moriarty after the actress revealed harassment from Trolls

Hours after Erin Moriarty commented on the misogyny she faced after playing Starlight in The Boys, the creator behind the popular Prime Video show jumped to her defense. In a tweet on Wednesday, Eric Kripke shared a profanity-filled tweet.

“Hello trolls! First, this is literally the opposite of the show’s lively message,” the writer wrote. “Second, you’re causing pain to real people with real feelings. Be nice. If you can’t be nice, eat a bag of bars, avoid the sun and don’t watch #TheBoys, we don’t want you.”

Showrunner Anthony Starr quickly responded to Kripke’s tweet, adding, “Amen to that, sir. Be kind. It’s easy.”

Moriarty shared a screenshot of a fan’s post on Medium on Tuesday afternoon, saying she felt silenced and dehumanized by “fans” of the show that the original blog post criticized.

“I put blood, sweat and tears into this role (over and over), I grew up in this character’s shoes (*adult focus – we change and develop mentally and physically),” graduate student Jessica Jones said on Instagram. “So I say: a) Thank you Tweet embed b) it breaks my heart – you’ve opened a vein for this role and misogynistic trolling is exactly what you (Annie) can talk about against and c) everyone is fighting their own fight(s); Let’s not add to that. I would never intentionally (especially) add publicly to you. This has strengthened the muscles of empathy with anyone who comes to me: I see you, I don’t hate you, I just sympathize and forgive.”

Moriarty has since shared a photo of her and partner Jack Quaid while filming the show’s fourth season in Toronto.

boys Season 3 is now streaming on Prime Video while Season 4 has yet to specify a release date.
