Tom Brady came by for my NFL records, but watch out for Patrick Mahomes

Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning serves up Tom Brady bowls to break all Manning records, assuring Patrick Mahomes is on his way there too.

The Brady Manning rivalry in the 2000s was a rivalry in the books, and Brady’s friend and former co-star Julian Edelman was more than willing to spark a conversation with Peyton Manning.

Manning recently appeared on the third episode of Edelman’s new podcast, “Games With Names,” to talk about the opening of the 2013 NFL season between the Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos.

Manning led the Broncos all the way to the Super Bowl that year, but they faced the deadly Boom Corps in their prime and lost in one of SB’s worst bombings to date. However, Manning’s year was a year for the books, landing 55 times in a 16-game season Set an NFL record which lasts to this day.

Of course, all Peyton could do was laugh as he watched Tom Brady keep the competition alive seven years after Manning retired. Brady has come up for nearly all career passing records set by Manning at this point, yet Manning still has one above Brady: those 55 touchdowns in one season. Brady got hooked up with 50 in 2007 (season dissected In the first episode from “Games With Names”), but Brady isn’t the only player to have made 50 players in a single season.

Manning admits that players are still playing the game on their way to breaking his own record, and the main contenders are Brady and Patrick Mahomes (Starts at 44:45).

“[Tom] Brady is on a mission to break every record I have. He wants to break this 55, and he trusts me right? [Patrick] Mahomes, I’m sure I’ll get there at some point too. So, most of my records have fallen off, and that’s kind of been on hold for a while. I mean, to tell you how competitive Brady is, now he goes out and gets more retirement number than me, right? “

Peyton Manning is convinced that Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes will break the record for one season in TD

Much like Manning, Patrick Mahomes had a regular season tear before going down a narrow overtime loss to Brady, Edelman and the Patriots again during the 2018 AFC Championship game. A few weeks later, the Patriots went on to defeat the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl. LIII, and Edelman won Super Bowl MVP for his invaluable performance.

But this was just the beginning for Momis, who led his team to the Asian Football Championship In every season since 2018. Since 2018, the Mahomes and the Chiefs have gone on to play in two sets of Super Bowls, outpacing the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. Of course, the Mahomes lost their second Super Bowl appearance to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

When Matt Verderame of FanSided asked NFL analyst Kay Adams how the Chiefs would perform in 2022, Adams put it back on their primary playmaker: Patrick Mahomes.

“It’s kind of a sharing answer, but it’s Patrick Mahomes,” Adams said. arrow addict Audio notation. “What do we do? Of course I believe in them.”

“[The Kansas City Chiefs] They have invested a lot in Patrick, and Patrick is very invested in this team,” Adams said.

Manning’s comments don’t just illustrate the longevity of Brady’s career – he’s played enough to own Hall of Fame contenders in two eras! – But it is a blessing that Manning accepts his place in NFL history. He knows that all of his incredible records have been shattered, even if it was at the hands of his long-time rival.

But Brady is expected to wrap up his winning streak this year, so if he doesn’t make it to 55, the land is yours, Patrick.
