Disney Plus Day 2022 announcements: What to expect from streaming service celebration!

Los Angeles — Disney + dreams come true for the second year Disney + day!

For those who aren’t in the know, Disney+ Day is a celebration of the streaming service, and with it comes a host of first-time content available for subscribers’ viewing pleasure – as well as special promotions, perks for subscribers, and more.

Expect lots of surprise announcements throughout the day! Fans found out early on Thursday morning That “BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage – Los Angeles,” a movie featuring the band’s live performances at SoFi Stadium in late 2021, is now available to stream. Disney+ has also announced that the Star Wars “Andor” series will release on September 21 with the first of three episodes, but fans can now peek at the series now.

Expected drops in content include Marvel Studios’ streaming premiereThor: Love and Thunder“New Live Action Release”PinocchioA behind-the-scenes look at the industryObi-Wan KenobiAnd much more from all of The Walt Disney Company’s iconic brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.

This year’s Disney+ Day leads to the D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, in Anaheim, California, Friday through Sunday.

Here’s everything we expected from the Disney + Day 2022 streaming service:

“cars on the road”

Pixar Animation Studios returns to the world of “Cars” with an all-new original series “Cars on the Road.” Episodes follow Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) and his best friend Mater (voiced by Larry the Cable Guy) as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country trip to meet Mater’s sister. Along the way, each stop is its own adventure, with outrageous roadside attractions and colorful new characters.

“Dancing with the Stars: The Most Unforgettable Professional Dance”

This special is a look back at the 20 most memorable dances from the 30 seasons of “Dancing with the Stars,” handpicked by professional dancers. Hosted by Derek Hough, Kym Johnson, Cheryl Burke and Brandon Armstrong, we’ll see them count down to their unforgettable performances. All this leads to Season 31, premiering live only on Disney+.

“Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory”

The face of a new generation of aspiring adventurers and natural history filmmakers, 29-year-old National Geographic explorer Bertie Gregory takes viewers on epic and surprising journeys that push into the most exciting and secret corners of our wild world. Armed with ground-breaking movie technology, National Geographic’s Disney+ Original Series breaks the mold of traditional natural history programming by telling extraordinary, realistic animal stories and taking viewers with it at every moment of the action.

“Frozen Sing-Along” and “Frozen 2 Sing-Along”

Disney+ will release two new Sing-Along versions of “Frozen” and “Frozen 2.” While subscribers watch Sing-Along’s version of these films, they will be able to fully immerse themselves in the music using the lyrics on the screen. Sing-Along versions of other fan favorites, including “Moana” and “The Little Mermaid,” are now available to stream.

“Growing Up”

Created by Brie Larson and Culture House, “Growing Up” is an innovative hybrid documentary series that explores the challenges, triumphs, and complexities of adolescence through ten come-of-life stories. The series uses narrative, experimental, and documentary filmmaking to follow a specific individual, between the ages of 18 and 22, as they tell their story.

Marvel Studios”She-Hulk: Attorney at Law(Episode 4)

The latest Marvel series drops another episode on Disney+ Day. The series revolves around the life of attorney Jennifer Walters, who must learn how to navigate her new life after an accident suddenly leaves her with powers she has never experienced before.

“Thor: Love and Thunder” Produced by Marvel Studios

Directed by Taika Waititi, “Thor: Love and Thunder” finds the god of thunder (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey like no other before – in search of inner peace. Also starring Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale, the film follows Thor’s harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the secret of God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods.

“Assembly: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder” by Marvel Studios

Settle down with the likes of Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, and Tessa Thompson as they reveal the secrets behind the creation of “Thor: Love and Thunder.” With in-depth interviews with the cast and crew, along with raw, unseen footage from the set and beyond, The Assemble pulls the curtain on the fourth God of Thunder feature film.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: The Return of the Jedi

“Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return” features all-new behind-the-scenes footage, colorful character stories and meaningful moments, and showcases Disney+’s limited original Lucasfilm series production,”Obi-Wan Kenobi. This insightful documentary explores the return of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to the screen – and Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to their respective roles. Director Deborah Chow, cast and crew reflect on their journey to tell a new story with Obi – Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader and Princess Leia while introducing new heroes and villains to the saga along the way.

“Pinocchio”

Directed by Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis, this live-action retells the beloved story of a wooden doll who sets out on an exciting adventure to become a real boy. Tom Hanks plays Geppetto, a woodcarver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Jiminy Cricket, who acts as a mentor to Pinocchio as well as his “conscience”. Academy Award nominee Cynthia Erivo is Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is “Honest” John; Academy Award nominee Lauren Bracco is Sophia Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans is the coach.

“to remember”

Where do ideas come from? And where do they go when they are forgotten? These central questions came to life in “Remembering,” an original short film by Emmy Award-winning director Elijah Allan-Blitz, starring Academy Award winner Brie Larson. With the first-of-its-kind augmented reality companion app, where the AR experience is powered through the motion picture of the movie, Disney+ subscribers in the US can interact with the story by scanning the TV to expand the fantasy world into their living room.

‘Welcome to the Club’: A New Short Story from ‘The Simpsons’

Lisa Simpson’s heart is set to become a princess, and she is surprised to learn that being bad can be more fun.

“Tierra Incogneta”

“Tierra Incógnita” follows Eric Dalaras, a teenager who discovers an intriguing world of poetry while searching for the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of his parents. Raised by his maternal grandparents, Eric decides to run away from home and return to his childhood town to find answers where his parents were last seen: Tierra Incogneta amusement park.
