Intel provides details on Arc A-Series desktop GPU specifications

Intel’s push towards desktop GPUs is getting more sophisticated and the company is finallyExplain more about the Arc A series.. As Intel itself says, it has been “dropping the breadcrumbs” but now it has finally given us a clearer picture of what to expect.

To help differentiate the different levels of the GPU, Intel will follow a similar naming method for its CPUs. Where Intel Core CPUs are categorized as i3, i5, and i7, the Arc A series will similarly be named Intel Arc A 3, 5, and 7.

In a similar way to the CPU lineup, the number corresponds to its performance. The entry-level Arc 3 GPUs are for what Intel calls “enhanced gaming” which doesn’t really say much. It’s clearly an entry-level product, as evidenced by the first desktop graphics card, the A380, which had only 8 Xe cores. The improved probably means that it’s a step up from the integrated Intel graphics attached to its CPUs.

In the middle, the Arc 5 GPUs target “advanced gaming” and with the move to 24 Xe cores on the A580, you can expect significant performance gains over the A380. Arc 7 GPUs will be among Intel’s top products, with the A750 and A770 having 28 and 32 Xe, respectively.

Intel’s listed clock speeds aren’t a constant frequency either, but rather the claimed average speed across a variety of light and intense workloads. The double listed value of the Arc A770 VRAM has good reason, too. The partners that make the A770 will likely produce versions with 8GB of GDDR6 memory. Although the Intel A770 Special Edition will come with 16GB capacity, throwing in the best of what Arc currently has to offer. There will also be a special edition A750 from Intel as well.

Specs are only half the story, however, and Intel is quick to point out that the latest features gamers want will also come as part of the Arc. Each Arc A-Series GPU will support ray tracing, Xess upscaling, HDR, variable refresh rate, customizable performance, and dedicated video encoders. Everything looks good, but until we actually play with this stuff, the final verdict has to be conservative.

When it is still up in the air. Intel has not yet revealed official availability, so the wait must continue. paying off Sean and Jim video from Intel to know more.
