Babu Freak has been a fan favorite Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalkeroffers a bit of hilarious comedic relief during the character’s appearance in this movie and it is expected that Babu Frick will bring some of that same energy to the The Mandalorian. However, the character’s appearance in the new trailer isn’t much of a surprise, as it was revealed earlier this year that the character will be making an appearance. During a panel at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year that featured Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, it was revealed that the beloved character will appear next season. Looking at the timeline of The Mandalorian Compared to the first appearance of Babu Frick in Heavenly Risethis highly anticipated appearance puts Papo Frick nearly 25 years or so ahead of his time as he roams the galaxy with the Space Runners from Kijime.

In addition, Babu Frik will not be the only Anzellan to appear. Show a teaser at Celebration featuring quite a few other Anzellans. It will also be interesting to see what Papa Frick is like when we meet him in The Mandalorian. Creatures Supervisor Neil Scanlan previously revealed that the character has been significantly reworked for The Rise of Skywalker.

Scanlan explained that “the real idea from JJ was that little Papo would be a character that looks a lot like in the movie, but not necessarily to do the job he does in the movie.” “He was almost kind of a psychic. Originally, Ray had gone to see Babu in order to find some information and he was almost in an environment that was very tailored to his own size, so when we started designing Babu—designed by Evan Manzilla, he was dressed very differently from what You see it in the final movie. So as a character, he was there very early in the JJ world, the role he played changed many times.”
