Who is Melissa Martinez?
Melissa “Super Millie” Martinez will make her UFC debut this Saturday at UFC 279. Martinez will be in the fight on Saturday with a total MMA record of seven wins and zero losses. Her last fight came in December 2019 when she faced Desiree Yanez. She would go on to win this fight by split decision.
Martinez fights outside her native Mexico. She is 25 years old and is looking to make a name for herself in the straw weight division. This was something Martinez had wanted to do almost her whole life. She started practicing kickboxing when she was just two years old.
When she was thirteen, Martinez was taught about MMA by her brother. I actually started training for MMA when I turned 13 and have never looked back. She made her professional debut when she was just 19 years old.
At UFC 279, Martinez “Melissa Super Millie” made her UFC debut when she faces Elise Reed.
With this fight, Martinez is sure to be ready to go. Elise Reed entered this fight with a professional MMA record of five wins and two losses. She has lost two of her last three fights, including her last fight in May 2022 against Sam Hughes. However, Cold should not be taken lightly as she will be looking to get back on track on Saturday.
Martinez is well versed in the cage. However, almost all of her career victories came by knockout or decision. Martinez, with her kickboxing style, can be a lethal striker and this can create a lot of problems for her opponents in their quest for a ranked list.
