On Thursday, at about 9:16 p.m., the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office received a suspicious call from an unidentified man, officials said.

Authorities said that during the phone call, the man threatened the lives of two local county judges.

The sheriff’s office said deputies were then sent to check on the judges’ residence, where they stayed to provide security.

As the investigation continued, the man called the next day, saying there was now a bomb in the Chambers County sheriff’s office.

Representatives said that a thorough search was conducted inside and outside the building, and no indication of a bomb was found.

According to lawmakers, the man called again, saying the bomb was a bomb in Chambers County Courthouse, which was immediately evacuated.

There were no explosives in that area.

On Friday, investigators identified the caller as 30-year-old Dustin Matthew Riddle of League City.

Six injunctions have been issued to Riddle on several counts of the terrorist threat with bonds totaling $1,600,000.

On Saturday, with the help of the City League Police Department and the Texas Rangers, detectives went to Riddle’s home, took him into custody, and conducted a search warrant at the home before transferring him to the Chambers County Jail.
